(BFP) On 29 November 2015 the European Central Bank opened its doors to its immediate neighbours in Frankfurt Ostend, who had the opportunity to learn more about its mission and values. A series of activities run throughout the day, like presentations on the ECB’s role and function, Banking Supervision, the building’s architecture or the Euro banknotes and coins, two interactive workshops and educational activities for children. The guests could also visit the new Euro exhibition on the ground floor (than can be visited until 29 February 2016) and learn more about our money in an interactive way as well as participate in one of 25 guided tours around the building. The first ECB open doors event was marked by a positive and relaxed atmosphere. The neighbours were happy to learn more about the ECB, see the building from the inside and, above all, get in touch with European staff of the ECB. The latter were glad to introduce their “house” and their work.
